
Benedict Chukwuemeka Iheme is a legal practitioner and development consultant based in Lagos. He has significant experience in the areas of governance, civil society strengthening, law reform, and capacity building in Nigeria, Tanzania, Namibia, and Seychelles. He has worked on projects supported by several donors, including USAID, European Union, UNDP, UNESCO, Misereor and Irish Aid. Emeka has served as Nigeria Country Director for Cordaid, a Dutch international NGO, and as Nigeria Country Coordinator for USEDATA, a DFID project managed by Montrose International. He is the author of books and papers that have been widely acclaimed and cited.
Mr. Iheme, a member of the Nigerian Bar, obtained the law degrees of LLB from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and LLM from the University of Lagos. He later studied Human Rights and International Cooperation and Development at the United Nations University, Tokyo, Japan. He is a member of the Board of Trustees.
