Emilie Serralta

Emilie Serralta has been working on human rights issues since 2000 for a range of organizations, including Amnesty International, the United Nations, and the International Criminal Court.

Her work has addressed a range of concerns, including violations of international humanitarian law against civilians, such as sexual and gender-based violence, excessive use of force, torture and the liability of companies and other non-state actors for human rights abuses. To date, she has led fact-finding missions in Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda.

Emilie has published numerous investigative and policy reports. She has an MSc in Development (SOAS – University of London) and a Master in Literature (Montpellier III). She has lived in the UK, Nigeria, DRC, and Kenya and is currently based in The Netherlands.
